About the Role:

Are you an experienced COBOL Developer passionate about supporting critical financial systems? We are looking for developers to join dynamic teams working on core banking platforms, delivering and maintaining high-performance mainframe applications that power enterprise-scale financial operations. You will contribute across the software lifecycle – from design and development to production support – ensuring system reliability, compliance, and scalability.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design & Develop: Build, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and CICS across batch and online systems.
  • Troubleshoot & Support: Provide L2/L3 support, investigate issues, and resolve production incidents with strong attention to detail.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with business analysts, testers, and technical leads to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Optimize: Write efficient code, tune batch jobs, and optimize database queries to improve performance and system responsiveness.
  • Modernize: Contribute to legacy system modernization initiatives and support platform transformation projects.

 

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience developing and supporting applications on mainframe systems.
    • L1: 1 – <3 Years experience
    • L2: 3 – <5 Years experience
    • L3: 5 – <7 Years experience
    • L4: 7 – <10 Years experience
    • L5: >10 Years experience
  • Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and mainframe utilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills within mainframe environments.
  • Familiarity with SDLC processes and best practices in enterprise environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical ideas clearly.

 

Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in banking or financial systems, including platforms like CBS/SAFE, CardLink, or Customer Information File (CIF).
  • Exposure to DB2, IAM, or IDMS (CV) databases.
  • Knowledge of SQL, RTC tools (IBM Rational Team Concert), or automated testing strategies.
  • Experience participating in modernization or migration projects for legacy systems.
